      Description:
      Setting this variable to 1 allows all replicating servers to synchronise their unread counts, regarless of the database settings.

      After an initial error in the Use of this variable in 7.0.x it was repaired in 8.0.2 by SPR# KHAN7CPTPF and is now doing what it's suppose to do.

      Valid Values 1 (on) and 0 (off)
