      Description:
      Problem
You leave your Lotus Notes 8 client running overnight, and find the next day that the Day-At-A-Glance plug-in still shows the previous date.

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Open the Day-At-A-Glance plug-in in Notes 8 and leave it running overnight.
      2. The next day, note the calendar view is not refreshed and will still display the previous day. However, the second half of the plug-in will refresh.

In the example, the client was left running on Tuesday, October 2nd. On October 3rd notice that the first date displayed still reflects the previous day while the second date displayed (with the "Today" button) did refresh for the next day.

      Resolving the problem
This issue was reported to Quality Engineering in SPR# TMDS77MPPM and has been addressed in 8.5.1 as described below:

-- If CalendarRefreshOnSystemDateChange=1 is set in the notes.ini file, the main and Day-At-A-Glance calendars will navigate to the current system date approximately 60 seconds after the system date changes.

-- If CalendarRefreshOnSystemDateChange=0 is set in the notes.ini file OR if CalendarRefreshOnSystemDateChange does not exist at all in the notes.ini file, no such navigation will take place.

Refer to the Upgrade Central site for details on upgrading Notes/Domino.

      Workaround:
Click on the "Today" button to refresh the plug-in's view.
