When enabled, the administrator can use the EXPN command from the system console to expand a specific group. For example, EXPN Group EXPN only provides valid returns for Valid Groups (Multi-Purpose and Mail)Users and Groups with Notes Routing (Group%notesdomain). Mail-in Databases and Access Groups will be returned with an error. The Group will be expanded and each address returned. Non-SMTP addresses are converted to SMTP addresses following Outbound Conversion rules whenever possible. This includes the use of LMBCS encoding as a worse case solution for Non-Ascii Group Members. Any address that still cannot be converted will be returned as an error. Group members that are themselves Mail-In DBs or other Groups will be returned as a member. The command does not expand subgroups (groups within groups).
"550 argument is not a valid Group" - If the argument is not a Group "550 argument is not a valid Group" - If the argument is not found "553 argument is not unique" - If the argument is not unique
(If the argument maps to 1 user and 1 group rather than 2 groups it will still return the 553 error as this maps to how the inbound conversion code would handle that address.)
This Setting is Introduced in version 4.6.2
